WILLIAM P. KELLY
Rumford, RI
1st VICE DISTRICT GOVERNOR
To continue
to
meet our motto, “We Serve”, Lions District 42 needs to continue
to grow. Some of our clubs are facing declining membership
levels. We need to band together to find new members for ailing
clubs and we need new clubs in areas that have needs but no
Lions.
This is our task for 2011-12 and beyond. We have increased from
30 to 34 clubs over the past two years. We must continue these
rewarding efforts.
Help us accomplish these objectives. Join us for Global
Membership Training to learn how to recruit. Take the training
to become a Guiding Lion. Then get involved with the District’s
recruiting and Guiding Lion efforts.
With more members, we will be able to say that “We Serve” more
communities every day.

ROSA
BRANCO
Cumberland, RI
2nd VICE DISTRICT GOVERNOR
The mes sage
from International President Tam is “Believe”. Believe that one
person can make a difference. A simple way to express what each
individual Lion needs to remember: that even just one person who
is willing to see, to listen and to care can change the
circumstances of another’s life at a time when it is most
needed.
It has been said “You cannot kindle a fire in another heart
until it is burning in your own.” As we continue in our quest to
grow, and most especially to retain, our membership numbers in
District 42, we must be willing to stoke, or maybe even
rekindle, the embers in our own hearts.
Our goal this year is to show our genuine commitment through
visible service projects that reflect our passion for Lionism.
We must all actively support the efforts of DG Francine and
Team, continue to “Believe” in ourselves and work together as we
show our communities what it means when “We Serve”.

Dawn Cabral-Quimby
Tiverton, RI
IMMEDIATE PAST DISTRICT GOVERNOR
I wish DG
Francine and her leadership tea m the best of luck in 2011-2012. This
year’s theme is: “I Believe”. I believe that we can make
a difference in many more lives in the coming year through our service
efforts and our fundraisers.
As Lions,
we should look for new and improved ways to help those in need. Partner
with other organizations where possible. Be open-minded about new
ideas, especially if they are new “old” ideas.
“I
believe” is an expression of hope. Hope for our communities, our
clubs, our District. We as Lions should convey that hope always, adopt
a believing spirit and show contagious enthusiasm about being a Lion.
CABINET
TREASURER
Robert P. Andrade, Pawtucket

My pledge as the District’s
Cabinet Treasurer is to continue the tradition of prompt,
accurate record keeping for the district. I will keep the
financial records in order and report such information to the
district as required. I will asses the dues and expenses in
relation to the approved budget, as set by the district
governor. I look forward to working with my fellow cabinet
members and all Lions in the state to continue the recent
progress in advancing Lionism in all of our communities.
